16th Annual Community Health Fair

On Friday, May 10, thirty-one community organizations gathered in the Watsonville City Plaza to share free health and wellness resources with locals attending the farmer’s market at PV Health Trust’s 16th Annual Community Health Fair.

Among the many health resources offered, residents who participated in the Health Fair had the opportunity to receive free blood pressure and glucose screenings from our Diabetes Health Center, receive bags of fresh produce from Second Harvest Food Bank, and participate in a raffle promoting healthy life-style habits. Against a backdrop of sunshine, the festive Mother’s Day atmosphere also featured a live Mariachi band, Folklorico dancers, and fun kids’ activities hosted by students from Watsonville High’s Health Academy.

The Health Trust would like to thank all those who helped make the Health Fair a great success, including each participating community organization and the generous event sponsors: Kaiser Permanente; Watsonville Community Hospital; Dignity Health Dominican; Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center; and Salud Para La Gente.

Special thanks to Second Harvest Food Bank for the generous donation of 300 produce bags, Watsonville High’s Health Academy, for outstanding volunteer participation, Cabrillo College’s Nursing Students, for assisting with health screenings, and Si Se Puede, for helping to set-up the event.
