Gustavo Indarose

Gustavo Indarose was raised in Watsonville, California. After graduating high school, he continued his education at Cabrillo College, earning his associates degree while also competing on the Men’s Basketball team. He continued his education at the University of California, Los Angeles where he completed his bachelor’s degree, simultaneously interning with UCLA Men’s Basketball.

Gustavo is proud to work in the programs department at the Health Trust and aspires to make a positive impact in both his workplace and community. He hopes to help further develop the already strong net of programs available for Pájaro Valley inhabitants while also cultivating strong relationships with the staff members of the organizations providing these efforts. His vision includes one where community members feel safe and can access the care they need for them and their families.

 


Lizbeth Carmona

Born and raised in Watsonville, Lizbeth graduated from Heald College with her Medical Assistant degree before transitioning to Medical Office Reception, and  has always worked with non-profit organizations. She is married and has three beautiful children.  

 


Brendan Louthen

Brendan obtained his BA in Public Health at California State University, Monterey Bay and his AS in Human Services at Cabrillo College. His experience entails lifestyle coaching for diabetes prevention, health education and promotion through community outreach and associated administrative tasks. Brendan was raised in Aptos and currently resides with his wife and daughter in Marina. 

 


Francisco Estrada, MPA

Francisco Estrada, MPA

Francisco Estrada is a native of the Pajaro Valley. After completing his graduate work at San Jose State University, Francisco spent the next few years working for the Santa Cruz County Office of Education helping to provide the youth in Watsonville with vocational opportunities through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act grant and the Sueños Program.

In his role as Program Associate with the Health Trust, he will work closely with the Director of Programs in overseeing the collaboratives and the Diabetes Health Center. As a type-1 diabetic, Francisco is aware of the importance of promoting good health and bringing equity to the residents of the Pajaro Valley.


Annie Puckett

Annie completed her BA in Psychology at University of California Santa Cruz and her AA in Art History at Cabrillo College. She has experience in event planning, product purchasing and marketing, with her prior work experience including management in retail and optical customer service. Annie was born and raised in Watsonville, where she currently resides with her family.


Bruce Ziegelman

Bruce Ziegelman

Mr. Ziegelman brings over 30 years of experience in the accounting profession with experience in finance, internal controls, system implementation, construction and administration. Bruce has acted as Chief Financial Officer and Controller for various companies including: governmental, nonprofit, construction, real estate and private agencies.

His approach and philosophy is to work with the client, taking into account time constraints, staffing and structure. He enjoys collaborating with staff, anticipating needs and issues and presenting well researched solutions.


Cristina Vega-Martinez

Cristina Vega-Martinez

Christina received a BS in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics at the University of California, Berkeley. She is also a Certified Diabetes Educator and a Certified Lactation Educator. She is currently using her knowledge to reach people at the Diabetes Health Center offering culturally competent Diabetes Prevention and Self-Management Education and Medical Nutrition Therapy.


Jacqueline Thompson

Jacqueline Thompson

Jacqueline joined the Diabetes Health Center in 2003.  She has 25 years of experience as a nutrition educator, holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Nutrition and is a registered dietitian. She is also a Certified Diabetes Educator, experienced in providing culturally appropriate Diabetes Self Management Education and Medical Nutrition Therapy to Latino families. Jackie is a graduate of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy and specializes in integrative and functional nutrition. Jackie is also a certified holistic health coach, a medical exercise specialist and a certified group exercise instructor.


Martha P. Quintana

Martha P. Quintana

Martha has been with the Diabetes Health Center since 1998. She has over 35 years experience in health care as a Registered Nurse, fifteen years as a Staff Nurse at Watsonville Community Hospital. Martha is one of few bilingual/bicultural Certified Diabetes Educators on the Central Coast. She follows American Diabetes Association and American Association Diabetes Educators standards of care for Diabetes Self Management Education. Her understanding of cultural and linguistic barriers to health care information makes her a unique asset of the DHC. Martha is a valued and respected health care professional in the community.


Teresa Martinez-Rodriguez

Teresa Martinez-Rodriguez

Teresa has been with the Diabetes Health Center since 1999. She came to the DHC with over 20 years of medical office experience. Teresa was selected as Mentor of the Year in 2005 by the Workforce Investment Board and received the distinction of Human Race Hero for 2004 and 2005. Her strong interpersonal skills make her the right person to establish strong community relationships.
