The Health Trust honored two winners of the 2017 Phil Rather Award for Leadership in Healthcare during a reception held at the Kathleen A. King Community Room on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Honorees included FoodWhat?!, for initiating and sustaining programs designed to help young people learn about the food system and cultivating a generation of leaders deeply committed to improving our community; and Eleanor Littman, for more than three decades of pioneering ideas and programs and for outstanding healthcare leadership, which has improved the lives of Pajaro Valley residents.

The Health Trust created the Phil Rather Award for Leadership in Healthcare in 1999. The award was inspired by its namesake and first recipient, Phil Rather, whose volunteer leadership in healthcare spanned more than 30 years in the Pajaro Valley. The Rather Award recognizes and honors individuals and/or organizations in the community whose contributions of time, effort and/or philanthropy have helped make a difference in the quality of our community’s health care.
