El Mercado

El Mercado Farmers' Market

Now at the Watsonville Community Hospital
Every Wednesday from 10 AM - 2 PM

El Mercado is a seasonal farmers’ market that brings locally grown fruits and vegetables to the community. It’s a great place to shop for fresh produce while supporting local farmers.

You can pay with cash, card, or CalFresh/EBT.

If you use CalFresh/EBT, you can also take advantage of our Market Incentive Program. For every $1 you spend with your EBT card, you’ll receive $2 in tokens to use on fresh fruits and vegetables at the market. For example, if you spend $10, you’ll receive $20 in tokens—giving you $30 total to spend on produce.

Even when El Mercado is not in season, you can still use this produce incentive at the year-round Watsonville Farmers’ Market at the Watsonville City Plaza.

Funding for El Mercado was made possible by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service through grant #AM22FMPPCA1141-00. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the USDA. El Mercado was originally funded by a grant from the Central California Alliance for Health in 2020.
